Un palacio en la arena documents 100 years of history of the legendary
Carrasco Hotel. From its ´birth´, its splendor and decadence, to its reopening as Sofitel Montevideo Carrasco Casino & Spa. This editorial project, coordinated by Havas Worldwide Gurisa, was a team effort of the studio together with the author and journalist Marcello Figueredo and photographer Magdalena Gutierrez.

The project required significant amounts of research on the part of Figueredo, who compiled information from various sources, from libraries and city archives, to fairs and family archives, newspapers of the period, magazines, photographs and interviews with ex-employees of the Carrasco Hotel provide the content of the work.

The large format book (28x28cm) has 252 pages, with their last two paper sheets in an uncoated paper with an appendix with the translation of the book and the sources consulted and credits.

The layout of the book generates a dynamic and fluid pace, which balances the amounts of image and text. In addition, a typeface was designed especially for use in drop cap letters and chapter numbers.
